After attending my first run again back since Comrades this past weekend, I realised how much more work is to be done before I can expect any decent short distance times. Sure, I had a good week of interval training during July, but the bottom line is that developing your running body is an on-going process. It’s not a question of doing one phase of good work and then waiting for the results to come. It’s a lot like building a building where you need to keep on working from week to week, looking after all the facets of development until you are happy with the final product. Sure, it’s going to be a lot of hard work, but it sure will be worth it!!
